it does look very complicated. but since its a very early development version, even the programers need to adapt to it.

Solution: Stop reading reviews.

Oblivion was a great game in its own way. I think it's just the sandbox style of game that provokes such mixed reviews. Some love it, some hate it. I loved the exploration element of it but thought the main story seemed tacked on.

Fallout 3 borrows a lot from Oblivion, so it's hard not to mention it at least once in some way. But it's also a completely different game. The main story seems more fused into the actual game world. And exploration is just as awesome, probably more so, than in Oblivion. I think it's a better game than Oblivion. But that definitely doesn't mean I think Oblivion was a shit game. I just think Bethesda has learned a lot.

No-one's ever going to agree, everyone has differing opinions, too many people write bad reviews with bad information. I wouldn't make too much of an issue out of it. Best advice to someone is to just play the game and see for themselves.
